Our dads know each other from work too, but they became really great friends, not just work buddies. I am almost two – and I have so much to tell you. I can be your big sister from Boston. When we get together, I’ll hug you a lot because that’s what I do. Dad seems a little nervous that this will continue into my teenage years, but I think he’ll be fine. I look at your pictures every morning (and usually throughout the day) before I talk to GOD about you. The LORD is ALREADY working through you as people who usually don’t seek HIM are praying for you and your healing. We know HE is working behind the scenes in ways we can’t even imagine, but I cannot wait to see what GOD has in store for you. Our parents know each other through church and your mommy and my daddy went to school together. Our mommies found out they were pregnant about the same time!! I was just brought into this world 2 weeks ago and I can’t wait for you to get here! We all pray for you all the time and are so excited for the opportunity the Lord has to work in your life! I already gave my mommy and daddy a scare with emergency surgery when I was less than 3 days old. Mommy says it is a lesson that they have to give us back to the Lord and let Him be in control. I got to see your little man up close and oh my gosh….his lips are just as pretty as yours. It was so neat to see his little legs moving as if he were telling Trey, “I am going to be just fine daddy.” Jason told me about the bonding experience before surgery and I can’t even imagine how overjoyed you must have felt. And just so you know, he is bonding with you every single time he hears your voice or feels your hand touch his. Remember that you are all he has known for the past 9 months and he will never forget your voice, whisper, or touch. So, although the holding seems so minimal, Oliver feels your touch every single day. You are an amazing mother and far more talented than those of us who have never changed a diaper backwards. I love you my sister.

You haven’t met us yet, but your mommy and daddy have been a very important part of our lives for the last 4-5 years. I know you know already how blessed you are to have them as your parents, but I’m just here to confirm that! You haven’t even been here for more than 2 weeks and you have touched more lives in such a short amount of time than most people do in a lifetime. Your future is so bright, little man.
We can not wait to meet you and get to know you like your mommy and daddy did with Cole and Olivia. They gave your parents some practice before you were born!

You have certainly been used by God to teach us that “we walk by faith, and not by sight.” What a faith-building experience your life has been. And you’re less than 2 weeks old!!! What we experienced this week with the original diagnosis put us all in the valley. But a remarkable thing happens to those who believe. When you’re in the valley, and hold still long enough, you can feel the Savior’s breath on the nape of your neck, letting you know,”I will never leave you, or forsake you.” Sure enough, the Lord overcame the wisdom of man and delivered what I believe will be the first of many miracles to come. I can’t wait to see how God uses you for His Glory and His Kingdom. You have the benefit of being raised up before a “cloud of witnesses” that will exemplify how to walk out Biblical Christianity. We will fail right in front of your eyes; we will fall down and fall short of God’s Glory. But you will witness the power of the Holy Spirit as He takes broken vessels and uses them for His Glory. That also includes you, my dearest grandson. So let’s strap in for a ride and an adventure that will have many valleys, but also many peaks. It will be an exciting trip, greater than any vacation you will ever have. My greatest thrill will be to watch you become a man after God’s heart.

I am one of your prayer warriors from N.C. You sure are a handsome guy. I love checking out your progress…I have been away for a couple weeks and couldn’t wait to get back to my computer to see how you have progressed…So happy to see that you are home with Mommy & Daddy. I have 4 little great-grandsons and you became very close to me when I first received the message from your grandma to pray for you. You became very real to me and I mentioned your name daily to God…and still do, by the way. My Sunday School class has your name at the top of our prayer list so we remember each day to lift you up to our gracious, loving Father. I pray that one day we will meet, until then know that I love you and God loves you even more. Keep doing your exercises and get strong. My favorite scripture is Ps. 23 it says it all.

We had our little Brittany 17 years ago and like Oliver, she had Spina Bifida in the same region of her back. We were worried that Brittany would not be able to walk or run but she surprised us all.
She never quite had to have ashunt but she does have some fluid on her brain. She is an honor student in high school and has never missed a beat since she was born.
We have been amazed over the years with her progress. I just wanted to let you know that little Oliver has a friend, even though we have never met him, we wish him all that is good and wonderful.

Dear Trey & Lace,
We just found out 3 weeks ago(20 weeks into our pregnancy) our baby has spina bifida.The Doctors tried to get us to terminate, we are Christians & we knew immediately we couldn’t do this & that we just had to trust God.The first couple of weeks were just awful but my Husband & I have a peace that can only come from God.
I am still nervous as what to expect at times though.
Your story & beautiful little Oliver has so encouraged us & I want to thankyou for openly sharing about your lives.Oliver is just gorgeous!

I am really excited after reading about you specially because you are prayer believers. We had our baby boy in September. He was diagnosed with Spina bifida when he was three months in the womb. Doctors gave bad prognosis and indireclty suggested to abort him. But we prayed for him and he is way better than anybody expected. And I believe as time goes he will be a testimony of many miracles in his. Praying the same for yor son Oliver.
