Oliver’s Miracle

So much has happened since I last updated my site! I just took my first plane ride. I had SO MUCH FUN. Everybody kept telling Mommy and Daddy what a good little boy I was. We went to Charlotte, NC. Daddy had a business meeting and he wanted me and Mommy to go with him to keep him company. I am a GREAT person to travel with. I even sat in my own seat.

I have also been swimming A LOT. I LOVE the water. Mommy bought me this really cool floating car. I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Mommy couldn’t stop Sophie in time. She licked me right in my mouth… YUCK. Mommy, Mrs Gala, Mrs Michelle, and Mrs Krista are all working really hard to help me start to crawl. Look how far I have come! That bar helps me, but soon I won’t need it.

This is called “Serious Eyes” I do it to Mommy and Daddy and then they do it back to me. We all laugh after, and then do it again, and again, and again. Mommy wants me to make “sweet eyes” but I am a boy, and besides I LOVE making “serious eyes”!

This is my stander. It helps my muscles grow strong. I go in this three times a day for about 20-30mins at a time. I love being in this because my arms are free to play. When I get a little older Mommy is going to get a really nice one for me.

Well, I had a pretty rough couple of weeks, but I also have a HUGE PRAISE REPORT! Last week I went to my Urologist, and she told my Mommy and Daddy that they only had to catheterize me in the morning and at night! That’s a HUGE improvement. She also said that I did not have ANY reflux into my kidney’s. Once again, we are all amazed at God’s healing power in my life. After that appointment we drove into New Orleans, and my Orthopedic doctor said that I needed to go back into casts for a little while. I have about one more week, and then it’s time to go swimming! Mom ordered my new DAFO’S, and she got some dinosaures on them! I can’t wait to take some pictures. This past week I was having some “spells” that made Mommy and Daddy pretty worried. They took me to the ER. Man was this place CRAZY!!! They had people everywhere. After a bunch of tests, most of which I can’t even pronounce, the doctors determined that I was having seizures. We had to stay over night at the hospital so the doctors could monitor my progress. They put me on some medicine to stop the seizures. The medicine doesn’t bother me too much and it doesn’t taste too bad either. Mommy is making some more doctors appointments for me so we can try to figure out why I was having seizures. I want to thank all of my family and friends who prayed for me, mommy and daddy. It was a pretty rough week, but through the grace of God we made it through. Now I am just waiting to get these casts off so I can go swimming with all of my friends!

I celebrated my first Easter this past weekend! I am so thankful to have a Savior like Jesus! This week my Tootsie turns the BIG 50! We celebrated with my family, and I got to meet my GREAT, GREAT, GREAT Aunt Ethel and Uncle Bud. It was really awesome to meet them. My Ami took a pretty cool picture of me in my Easter outfit. I am with my Mickey, he’s my favorite stuffed animal right now. And I had to include some pictures of me and my best-friend Sheldon, in our matching Easter outfits! Sorry I haven’t written in a while. I have been pretty busy! Let’s see… I celebrated my first Mardi Gras with my bestfriend Sheldon! We went to Houston in a BIG motor home. I want to thank Mr Richard and Mrs Ann, they are Sheldon’s grandparents and they invited me and mommy to go with them. We had SO much fun. We went to the Galleria and mommy and Aunt Melissa made me shop ’til I dropped.

01.11.08 - My Mommy’s Birthday is today!  Happy Birthday, Mom!  We went over and celebrated with Uncle Blair, Aunt Melissa, and Sheldon.  Sheldon and I just hung out laughing and playing.  We started posing and, of course, the cameras broke out.  So…being the stars that we are, we had to put a show on!!

Sheldon tickling my feet and trying to eat my toes…  That girl is brave foolin’ with my feet!  Has she ever seen what kinda feet I come from like my Pawpee and Popsie’s?

Wow!  That girl packs a mean ‘whack’!  Here I am trying to ‘bust a move’ and she wacks me across the head!

…. I think I am going to try out a new hair style, and I am going for the rebel look. Do you think Mommy would approve?

….Ok so Mommy wasn’t crazy about my new hair idea, but that’s ok ’cause I had a blast with my bestfriend today!

The Tigers are playing for the BCS National Championship today against Ohio State and Sheldon is throwing a party at ther house!  Gotta dress the part!!  Dude, check out those LSU Chuck Taylor shoes!

OH YEAH, AND THE TIGERS WON!!  THEY BEAT THE BUCKEYES AND SENT EM’ PACKIN’!! 

Well, I had a chance to enjoy my first Christmas and boy was it fun!  I spent alot of time in my car seat travelling to Tootsie and Popsie’s first and then to Ami and Pawpee’s house, but it was well worth it.  Not only did I get all of the attention and get showered with kisses, but I got all kinds of cool stuff!!  As a matter of fact, I think I’m gonna push up my ‘workout schedule’ so that I can start moving around more to play with all of my stuff.  Christmas morning was really special cuz me, Mommy and Daddy sat in front of the fireplace looking at those big bright orange flames and we remembered that we had to share this Day with another baby…Baby Jesus.  We sang Happy Birthday to him and thanked him for continuing to heal me, to watch over me and to be the power behind all of the miracles in my life.  I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

I went to Ingram Bates’ 1 year old Birthday party today and man, did I have fun seeing all of my friends. Of course, Mommy and Daddy were showing me off with no casts on. We had cake, ice cream, hamburgers (Man, Uncle Jason cooks a mean burger!), and she had a space walk! We all got together on the bed and took some pics of ‘The crew”. Check them out…

I went to the doctor today to get my 4th set of casts on and the doctor said that I didn’t need them any more!! (Yeah!!) ….And you said God doesn’t work miracles. When we first got the casts on, the doctor said that I would have to wear casts for 1 year (…being changed out every week) to get my feet aligned correctly. After 3 castings, the doctor looked at my feet and said, “Wow, these feet look amazing. He doesn’t need casts any more. He has graduated to the shoes.” Yes, you read that right. I’m only 3 months old and I’m already ‘graduating’ from things….HOW YA’ LIKE ME NOW! These shoes have a bar in between them so that I can perfect my snowboarding stance…..

And, if I can say so myself, they’d be crazy not to pic a “happy” kid like me!

I mean, I’ve got the “Hollywood” look already….

Shy guy?  I’ve been working on that one for 9 whole weeks!
